Homemade Hot Chocolate (using maple syrup)

This homemade hot chocolate can be made in a cinch with ingredients that you probably have in your cupboard. I love this recipe even more than Swiss Miss now!
  • 1¼ c 2% milk
  • 2 Tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tsp maple syrup (you can also substitute white sugar or sweetener – you will not need as much sweetener so check the packet for the conversions)
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • dash of cinnamon
  1. Heat milk for 1 minute and 45 seconds.
  2. Stir in cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla and cinnamon to warm milk until combined.
  3. Add more maple syrup/sugar if you want sweeter!
